A very important component of the student's tools in this course (hence mandatory) is the HP-Prime calculator. TI's are not an option, neither is any other HP calculator.
I suggest that you also download and install the HP-Prime emulator on your laptop or tablet. It is quite convenient for assignments and lab reports (Sadly, not for exams.)
There is an HP-Prime emulator for iPhones, but as per UBC regulations, it is not allowed in exams. But enormously portable. So much so that I use it on a daily basis (But my phone is a huge iPhone S, so I can type on it.)
