EECE 563 is a broad introduction into the signalling and detection concepts applied in Wireless Communication Systems. The course content includes

  • a brief overview and classification of modern wireless systems and standards,
  • an understanding and mathematical modelling of the wireless channel,
  • an analysis of its capacity,
  • a discussion of modulation techniques applied in wireless communications and their performance
  • countermeasures to the detrimental effects of channel fading
  • an introduction to multiple-input multiple-output channels
  • a study of equalization and multicarrier modulation to deal with
    frequency-selective channels
  • and an overview of multiuser communication for wireless systems
