EECE 563 is a broad introduction into the signalling and detection concepts applied in Wireless Communication Systems. The course content includes
- a brief overview and classification of modern wireless systems and standards,
- an understanding and mathematical modelling of the wireless channel,
- an analysis of its capacity,
- a discussion of modulation techniques applied in wireless communications and their performance
- countermeasures to the detrimental effects of channel fading
- an introduction to multiple-input multiple-output channels
- a study of equalization and multicarrier modulation to deal with
frequency-selective channels - and an overview of multiuser communication for wireless systems
