EECE564 - DETECTION AND ESTIMATION OF SIGNALS IN NOISE

John G. Proakis, Digital Communications, 5th edition, McGraw-Hill.

§                   The most popular and most referenced text book in Communications

§                   But not always easy to read and to follow

Other books on Digital Communications:

§                   S. Haykin, Communications Systems, 4th edtion, Wiley. (relatively easy to read)

§                   J.R. Barry, E.A. Lee, D.G. Messerschmitt, Digital Communication, Kluwer Academic Publishers, 3 edition, 2004.

§                   Wozencraft and Jacobs (1965), Principles of Communication Engineering, Wiley. (the classic in the area)

Books on basics concepts:

§                   Oppenheim and Willsky, Signals & Systems, 2nd edition, Prentice Hall. (Fourier transform, etc.)

§                   Papoulis, Probability, Random Variables, and Stochastic Processes, McGraw-Hill. (the title says it all)

§                   Moon and Stirling, Mathematical Methods and Algorithms for Signal Processing, Prentice Hall.
