Problem Sets
Errata
- Problem Set #1, Problem 3.1 and 3.2: The B matrix should be [0 1 1]'.
- Problem Set #1, Problem 4.1 and 4.2: The solution should be obtained in both cases by determining the state transition matrix for the coupled, first-order difference equations that represent Euler's method, and the Runge-Kutta method, respectively.
- Problem Set #3, Problem 4.3, parts (a), (b), (c), (d): The Lyapunov equation should be A^T P A + P = Q. The solutions shoud be (a) may be, (b) must be, (c) must not be, (d) must be.
- Handout #2, Equation (5) and Equation (7) should have terms 1/(s+\lambda_i), not 1/(s-lambda_i).
- Midterm Solutions, Problem 1.2: The first line should be Cbar e^(Abar*t) Bbar* [0 1]' + Dbar *[0 \delta(t)]'.
